WORKS ON PAPER

NEW FOR 2018

Rebecca Doughty presents an ongoing series of playful, informal works on paper. In these loosely drawn, gently satirical portraits, characters speak their favorite commentaries, judgements and inspirational catch-phrases, which are literally written on their faces.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

WORKS ON PAPER THAT ARE SIGNS FOR THE TIMES: The current social and political climate has motivated many of us to respond. But how? Rebecca Doughty has created an informal project on paper, entitled ARE YOU KIDDING ME? In these drawings, her animal characters have taken to the streets, carrying protest signs, and wearing their characteristic deadpan expressions. In addition to the works on paper seen here, she has created silkscreen reproductions of the drawings which are available at affordable prices, in the spirit of political posters/ephemera.
